Cover Alert: Crossed, Lola and the Boy Next Door, and The Space Between

This is the first of several covers Penguin premiered in their catalog. It's pretty hard to follow the beautiful cover of Matched so I've got to give it to the cover creation team. They had their work cut out for them. I have to say, I don't love this one as much as the first but I like where they were trying to go with this one and I love the color. I just wish she was in a pretty dress. Because yes, I really am that shallow...

Goodreads Summary:

In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky— taken by the Society to his certain death—only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia’s quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander—who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia’s heart—change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.
Crossed comes out November 1, 2011 from Dutton Juvenile.

Call me crazy but I love how this cover echoes Ms. Perkins first cover Anna and the French Kiss. Though I've yet to read it, I already know this is a novel I must have. The cover creator was able to create another cover that feels so fresh. I want to live in their world and I don't even know them yet. Gotta love a girl in purple hair!

Goodreads Summary:

In this companion novel to Anna and the French Kiss, two teens discover that true love may be closer than they think
For budding costume designer Lola Nolan, the more outrageous, the outfit—more sparkly, more fun, more wild—the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend)until the dreaded Bell twins move back into the house next door.
When the family returns and Cricket — a gifted inventor and engineer—steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
Lola and the Boy Next Door comes out September 29, 2011 by Dutton.

I'm sure this one will be bigger soon but I just loved in it in the Penguin catalog and had to share it. It's so dark and that red is so vivid. Glad to see Ms. Yovanoff is sticking with her darker roots. Can't wait to dive into this one!

Goodreads Summary:
The story of Daphne, a half demon/half angel girl who travels from Pandemonium to Earth to find her missing brother, only to fall in love with the troubled boy who can lead her to him. Kept apart by the violent jealousies and competitiveness of the archangels, they must journey across worlds to be together.
The Space Between comes out 2011 from Razorbill.

What do you think of all the new covers from some of our favorite authors?

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
